Ron's critique is well founded but my concern is how people would get in and out of the area. The Riverside Parkway is one lane in each direction. Even if there would be a new, special exit for the center, how many cars can be handled in a reasonable period of time? Exits off Fifth street right in the middle of the space between the Parkway interchange and the river bridge? Or will cars be funneled through the Riverside community? I smell the lure of a bargain price for the lease of the land from the city but little concern for getting in and out of the area for capacity events.

I'm betting that the "event" center will "event"ually be taxpayer supported.

Probably in less than 5 years.

And the city "leaders" will proclaim that the facility is needed and/or necessary for the city to compete with other communities to justify teir throwing 3-5 million per year into "saving" it.

But, after all, it is only tax money. It's not like it BELONGS to somebody.
