Our active duty military personnel have spoken, why are we not listening? Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has received campaign donations from active duty service people at a rate greater than all other candidates combined.
What is it about Texas Sen. Ron Paul our fighters in the field find appealing? Why has our media not afforded detailed analysis of this retired air force officer? If Ron Paul, one of only four republican congressmen to endorse Ronald Reagan for president, is good enough for our brave sons and daughters should we not be curious? We post call to any citizen or organization that might shed light on what appears to be a theater of hypocrisy. If we support the troops we should at the very least listen to our soldiers.

Yep, the 2 presidential candidates coming out in opposition to Bush’s disastrous Iraq war, Obama and Paul, are the ones getting the most donations from our service members. Our military personal are smart people. They know that Bush’s war is the greatest mistake made by a president in modern history. Their money shows that they want us to be responsible and get them home as fast as we can. We owe it to them to reject John McCain who has said that he believes our brave American troops could be kept in Iraq for the next 100 years.

It should be “personnel” in the previous post, not “personal”. Even though, this Republican administration’s ignorant Iraq war policies are indeed “personal” to our troops and those of us who have family members serving in Iraq. And it should be “personal” to every American because each of us has to pay for Bush’s stupidity. 3 to 5 TRILLION dollars worth of stupid. That is an average of $53,333.00 for every American family of four if you take the middle number of 4 trillion as the cost. And if John McCain, by mistake, gets elected president, you can be assured that your share of that bill will grow.

Oh e u… you said:
“Republican administration’s ignorant Iraq war policies…”
And the less ignorant policies that you have devised based on your superior knowledge of…?
Exactly what are you an expert on, besides more liberal rhetoric based on a desire for more political power?
Does listening to politicians whine and cry make you an expert on anything?
I gave you facts to deal with, and you promptly ignored them and came back with more uneducated, ignorant of the facts, garbage.
If you have FACTS to present, then by all means feel free to present them.

As usual, Johnson wouldn’t know a fact even if somehow you could give him a neuron to keep company with his other damaged one. How do you explain the FACT that our military members are supporting the anti-war candidates? Ignoring that FACT are ya?

oh goody more drivel.
-”How do you explain the FACT that our military members are supporting the anti-war candidates? Ignoring that FACT are ya?”-
Would you care to PROVE this “fact” that you seem to be so proud of?
Had you claimed that -some- members of the military…, we might have had a discussion.
But no, you had to claim that “our military members are supporting”…..
In fact, “some” prefer clinton, “some” prefer obama, “some” prefer mckainnedy, “some” prefer other candidates as well.
THOSE are all FACTS, not drivel spouted by some political hack that you worship.
Did you ever find all those “rights” you brag about being in the Constitution yet?
Or did you admit they really don’t exist and are too lacking in CHARACTER to admit you are wrong there too?

I won’t do your research for you. And the DS does not allow links in this forum. Just google: Paul Obama military and donations….I’m sure you can find someone to show you how to do a web search.

But e u…
“I won’t do your research for you.”
I ALREADY KNOW what is contained in the wording of the CONSTITUTION.
The research is for YOUR benefit. You claim ownership of “rights” not in evidence in that document, nor any of the supporting documents written on the subject of American Independence from the crown of England.
-”And the DS does not allow links in this forum.”-
And this phrase is relevant to what discussion?
-”Just google: Paul Obama military and donations”-
To what end do I wish to perform this search? To prove that “some” members of the military support Ron Paul?
Your reading/comprehension skills must be extremely limited. That subject has been well covered in my previous post.
-”I’m sure you can find someone to show you how to do a web search.”-
So, you think nobody else knows how to surf the web?
How truly brilliant you must think yourself to be.
Please allow me a short break whilst I back away from my desk to allow more room for me to genuflect to your superior intellect.

A few comments about an otherwise thought provoking letter by Mr. Gibson. The heading was a throttling down of the facts in that it says “Paul is the ‘choice’ among servicemen”. Let’s get the facts straight. Paul has received from Army, Navy and Air Force personnel more contributions than all other presidential candidates ‘combined’. That is not merely the ‘choice’ among servicemen…it represents the views of an overwhelming ‘majority’ of servicemen and ’servicewomen’.
Next, Dr. Ron Paul is a sitting 10 term member of the US Congress. Today he is being voted on in Texas’ 14th Congressional District for his 11th term. He is not a US Senator. Also, Dr. Paul did not retire from the US Air Force. Being a family medical doctor in civilian life, he served as a flight surgeon in the military. He understands both the fragility and sanctity of life very well having delivered over 4,000 babies in his medical career.
Since Ron Paul has the confidence of all of these military personnel, we really do have to ask ourselves the question…”why?”. What is going on here that all of the war-hawks back home do not understand? They were led to believe by our President and backed by a complicit mainstream media that there was a mad-man in control of weapons of mass destruction. That was a government lie that has never been acknowledged. Former Treasury Secretary Paul O’Neil in Ron Suskind’s eye-opening book ‘The Price of Loyalty’ evidences that the decision to go into the mid-East was made before baby-Bush took office….and was all about oil.
This protracted war has killed and maimed men and women that should never have been deployed to the mid-East. Congress did not declare war and we should take away from any hothead or madmad the right under so-called ‘Executive Orders’ to send one more American boy or girl onto foreign soil. If we were wrong…we were wrong and it would go a long way toward restoring some confidence in America to have our leaders ‘fess-up’ to the world and say that we went in there wrongfully. There is great confusion with Americans about our effort in Iraq. The media has led the average American to believe that every Iraqi is a terrorist in our unending search for members of alQueda (Arabic for ‘toilet’…by the way)??? We’ve added further insult to our national disgrace by killing and maiming well over one million Iraqi men, women and children (like in babies) who simply were in the wrong place at the wrong time (collateral damage). To continue this for any reason…oil or otherwise, is outrageous!
Perhaps this is exactly what our troops have come to understand…and is the reason why they are supporting the only candidate who will immediately pull our troops out and bring them home. They volunteered for an effort that they were led to believe was to save the world…but now see they were simply conned. We need to help bring them home. God knows we may soon need them here if there’s another disaster on our own soil.

Typical drivel DrD.
IF 100 % of ALL active military personnel had donated to political candidates, AND IF the donations held true to the same ratios that YOU CLAIM to be true, THEN you night have a point.
However, since only a very few military personnel can even afford to make political donations due to crappy pay schemes contrived by liberal, military hating politicians, your “statistics” do not represent ALL members of the military.
Only a select few. E-6 and under probably do not have the financial resources available. And that cuts out a VERY LARGE percentage of the military.
So your claim that the “MAJORITY OF THE MILITARY” supports ron paul is more what you “wish”, as opposed to what IS.
Your claim to facts not in evidence, nor provable is typical liberal garbage thinking.
Since your hero Ron Paul is a true conservative in nearly every sense of the definition of the word, I seriously doubt he would approve of your stooping to liberal pretend facts to lie about him and his campaign for the Presidency.
But, feel free to run it past him. (before you run it past us first next time)

Johnson, your posts lead other Readers to the conclusion that you, sir, are the typical liberal barnyard jackass braying about anything and everything that disturbs YOU. You seemingly have a gee-haw opinion about everything anyone else has to say. What was it that mommy denied you when you were a little boy that made you such an intolerant human being? What is it about the opinions of others that frightens you…and that you cannot stand? And who gave you the authority to play ed-cop to this site? The 1st Amendment to the Constitution gives me and everyone else the right to say what is on OUR minds. On the other hand, you attempt to character assassinate those with whom you disagree (the lowest form of debate). You have your right to disagree, but it’s better to do so skillfully, preserving the rights of others.
You strain at a gnat and swallow a camel. No one mentioned a military vote…only that a majority of our military supports Dr. Paul. Even mainstream media uses the military contributions for a clue as to their preferences. That doesn’t appear to be just my WISH…prove to us differently! Just what is your meaningless point in straining at this gnat? The genuine issues you conveniently ignore: 1) this Nation has lost its’ way and is involved in a war that is un-Constitutional; 2) the President and this Administration lied to as to the real reason we went into Iraq (it had nothing to do with weapons of mass destruction (inform yourself)); 3) you cannot justify dead young Americans on Iraqi soil under these circumstances (go ahead and try!); and 4) you cannot justify nor should any American condone killing innocent civilians in a false flag war (Google ‘Gulf of Tonkin’ which is now public record). We are NOT at war with Iraq and we have no business killing their people. Why don’t these valid points make you indignant? If you have issues with THESE points, say on. Honest debate still affords you that priviledge. However, should one of the one-world view candidates (Hillary, Obama, or McCain) succeed, it will indeed be interesting to observe your posts. By the way, I put in my four as an E5…and I happen to know something about fighting. How much time did you actually spend in uniform serving in the armed forces, Johnson?
As to your closing remarks above: Ron Paul is not a ‘conservative’. And since you seem to love the word ‘drivel’…calling Dr. Paul a conservative is drivel, and is further evidence that you are suffering from just so much media brainwashing. Evidence is your use of such fatal and worn alternatives as ‘conservative and liberal’. Dr. Paul is a strict Constitutionalist and his 20+ years in Congress proves him to be a champion thereof. Sorry…my post was perfectly in step with the views of Dr. Paul…not that I need his approval or yours to voice my opinions here on this site.

Ron Paul does not even know what he is. He has mostly conservative domestic policy and liberal cut and run foriegn policy. He’s an idiot!

Ya gotta love this stuff!
DrD said: “And who gave you the authority to play ed-cop to this site? The 1st Amendment to the Constitution gives me and everyone else the right to say what is on OUR minds.”
And the simple answer is… I’m not the “ed-cop”, nor do I pretend to such lofty(?) goals.
You present a mornonical extrapolation of minuscule data and pretend that your theory is Gods Law or something.
I only point out the fallacy of your position.
Obviously, since I pointed out the error of your ways, you think that I need a tongue lashing from you.
That brings to mind the question: WHO made you the “ed-cop” of this venue?
You also said: “No one mentioned a military vote…only that a majority of our military supports Dr. Paul. Even mainstream media uses the military contributions for a clue as to their preferences:
You’re right, not even I mentioned the “military vote”.
And you actually “think” the -mainstream media- is a valid source of factual information? That, all by itself, explains a lot about you and your drivel. Another word you ain’t to proud of, why is that? Too accurate?
And there’s more:
“The genuine issues you conveniently ignore: 1) this Nation has lost its’ way and is involved in a war that is un-Constitutional;” but yet further down you said: “We are NOT at war with Iraq”.
So which is it? Are we in a war or not?
And still another:
“2) the President and this Administration lied to as to the real reason we went into Iraq (it had nothing to do with weapons of mass destruction (inform yourself));”
I am “informed”, but obviously you rely on the -mainstream media- for your source of information.
“4) you cannot justify nor should any American condone killing innocent civilians in a false flag war ”
And these “innocent civilians” would be whom exactly? Remember that if you use -mainstream media- as a source, it’s gonna make you look somewhat lacking….
You’re right inasmuch as you state that we are not at war with Iraq.
However, we are at war IN Iraq. And it’s not so many Iraqis that we are at war with, but imports fro various other countries that really do not care how many innocent Iraqi civilians they kill.
On the other hand, OUR military goes to great lengths to protect from harm those same innocnet civilians you keep claiming they murder daily.
As far as another of your dumb statements:
“By the way, I put in my four as an E5…and I happen to know something about fighting. How much time did you actually spend in uniform serving in the armed forces, Johnson?”
I put in my SIX years, leaving as an E-6.
I ENLISTED of my own free will. I was not drafted.
I SERVED during Vietnam.
And, as for the current crop of garbage running for the Presidency.
EVERY ONE is only after the POWER over the People of this nation, and for no other reason.
If I left out something that you feel is of great importance to you, feel free to bring it up, I’ll do my best to make you look as good as possible.

Excuse me! Can we define our terms? Would you mind telling the Readers here in your own words exactly what you mean by the terms ‘conservative’ and ‘liberal’? Only then do we have a platform for honest debate. Once again, resorting to character assassination is the lowest form of debate.
Obviously, you did not understand that Dr. Paul does not consider himself to be a ‘conservative’. He is not interested in preserving what is established. What is established has drifted way too far from the original traditions this Nation was founded upon. He has for many years called himself a strict ‘Constitutionalist’. What is it about ’strict’ that you do not understand? Or do you even understand the difference between someone who is conservative vs. someone who is liberal? By definition a ‘liberal’ is someone who is not strict in observance of traditional or established forms or ways. I suspect you’ve never read the document, so you would not have the foggiest idea as to what he might be conserving…or for that matter what you are talking about. It is that document that governs what you call his “liberal cut and run policy”. He is neither liberal, nor does he cut and run. That document which is the highest law of the land says we should never have been there in the first place. The President of the United States has not been vested with the power of some European king or dictator that can order people around. He lacked authority by that document to commit our troops to this foreign war. He lied. And Rexall, it’s only by that document that you are afforded the priviledge of shooting off your mouth in such a disrespectful manner.

oh goody!
Let’s see, you desire that I should “define” the terms “conservative” and “liberal”.
Write to your buddy bill clinton, he’s the expert on defining words.
Yes, I do know what a “strict constructionist” is.
I are one. And, as I have mentioned, ron paul has a good record, but he is NOT Presidential material.
And you keep mentioning this “illegal war”, terminology which comes straight from the bill and hillary and john kerry handbook.
And who was “rexall” disrespectful to? You? No biggie rexall, keep up the good work.
As to the “cut and run” position of ron paul, yeah, that pretty much explains his position.
It’s better to have radical muslim extremists beheading American Citizens on American Soil, than any place else on Earth. So sayeth ron paul, and, apparently, DrD.

Congress gave approval to the Iraq war and it was the right decision. I think it to be a good thing and hope we are there for many years to come or until the radical muslim extremists are wiped off the face of the earth. It provides us a central place to kill terrorists. We have now killed hundreds to thousands of the little freaks that could of been doing harm some other way in some other place.
