Several years ago, my son was preparing to go to middle school. We were in the Grand Mesa Middle School zone. I had heard so many good things about Bookcliff Middle School, and wanted my son to attend there.

I had to have a meeting with the principal and tell him why I wanted my son to go there and at the end of our meeting, he told us, that Keegan would be permitted to attend middle school there. The three years that Keegan attended Bookcliff, were awesome! They introduced him to so many diverse subjects that kept his interest in learning new topics.

So, it comes as no surprise that Bookcliff Middle School was honored with such an award this past week. Congratulations to the faculty and administration of Bookcliff Middle School. In addition, I wanted to comment how fortunate we have been over the years that Keegan has had such incredible teachers: caring, compassionate and even challenging.

He attended Thunder Mountain Elementary, Bookcliff Middle and is currently a senior at Central High School. I would just like to thank all of the teachers who have touched (dare I say that?) Keegan’s life, and how blessed we were to have such positive influences throughout his education. Don’t let a few bad apples in the system rot the basket of amazing teachers.
