Last week, the U.S. Navy made a pinpoint shot at an errant satellite. The shot was not only the first try but a direct hit that obliterated the target, turning it into a thousand bits of debris that will be only quick streaks of meteorite in our skies.
What upsets me is the worldview of the incident completely based on ignorance, is so out of kilter.
China and Russia are the worst. I saw a Chinese leader stammering about his worry of the missile disrupting Chinese security. Security? For whom? You could take the entire population of L.A., New York City and Chicago and put them all to work in Chinese sweatshops. They would all work six, 15-hour days under duress of physical harm for $50 a week. This would come close to what Chinese life it like. These Chinese officials have the audacity to pretend they are concerned with their people’s security.
Russia knows a lot better than to criticize us too heavily. They stood nose to nose with us for 40 years before realizing that their own system was their own worst enemy. Their only hope of condemning the United States is support they can muster form all the other nations of the “New World Order” to whom individualism is a sin.
I say, “Good shot, boys!” Keep it up.
