Candidates reveal a great deal about capabilities to be president by the way they manage campaigns. If a campaign runs smoothly, it is certain the one in command has the ability to attract and inspire a wide diversity of people. High-quality staff members work quickly and surely to handle whatever confronts them. Volunteers also perform at a high level to complete the tasks they are assigned.

The rigors of campaigning test whether the candidate has the physical, emotional and intellectual capacities to thrive on the travel, the speeches, the debates and the careful management of human and financial resources.

Let’s consider the differences between the Democratic candidates remaining, Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama.
Sen. Clinton was certain she would be the Democratic nominee when the votes were counted Super Tuesday. She timed the exhaustion of campaign funds to occur by that date. Unfortunately she misjudged the results of contests to that point. With funds gone, she had to loan her campaign $5 million. The situation also forced her to scramble to get people on the ground and advertisements on the air to keep her campaign alive. Since Super Tuesday Sen. Clinton has lost 11 contests in a row. These losses force her to place great emphasis on winning Ohio and Texas by large margins.

Sen. Clinton constantly charges Sen. Oabma with lacking experience. It appears, however, that he has superior ability to manage a presidential campaign. His campaign is amply funded by supporters whose contributions average only $109 each. He does not take PAC or lobbyist’s money. Since Super Tuesday, Feb. 2, Obama won 11 contests by huge margins over Hillary Clinton. Readers may agree with Joe Klein, who wrote in a Time Magazine article, “Of the candidates remaining, Barack Obama has proved himself to be the best executive by far.”
