Proms. What’s harder to understand, a reporter whose mind is so dead that he cannot imagine a high-school experience without a prom or parents that have so completely failed their role that they and their children have an expectation to constantly improve on the event?

So of course there is the plea for the community at large to donate funds. I might do that, when everyone in the community has adequate meals and a place to sleep every night. Until then it just doesn’t seem too important that this year’s prom be better than last years. I can imagine all of the students taking all of the time and money they would have put into going to the prom and instead investing that into some worthy charity here in the valley. Can you?
