The Daily Sentinel could do local government and citizenry a great service by reminding us periodically that there is, as yet, no proven process for extracting oil from shale. This means that any statements about economic or environmental impact are at best, just guesses.

Actually there are five different processes in commercial usage, most prominent in Brazil and Canada. Perhaps you actually meant to say that there isn’t a proved process for getting oil from the Western Slopes shale. As opposed to that thing you said, which isn’t true.

Could you be specific and elaborate on those processes, please? Is mining and retort one of them? If you are talking about Raytheons’ microwave technology, pardon me while I hurt myself laughing.
