I am not a business owner, but I couldn’t agree more with Joseph Miller on the subject of the so- called Fruita “Senior Center.” Why in the world should we citizens of Fruita agree to increase our taxes by 1/3 to build what sounds more like a country club than a senior center?
In addition to the increased tax, there will be user fees, and we haven’t yet been told who would run this enterprise and how they will be paid. Already it appears the costs will put it out of reach for many of our seniors.
Do you think maybe some of those about to be term limited might be planning their future employment?

If the city of Fruita cannot stand to be debt free, why not float another bond issue and repair Fruita’s sidewalks and properly fix the roads. A good example of a road that could use updating is the eyesore 18 Road.
Vote no on the “senior center” issue.
