I would like to respond to the letter claiming we should punish “greedy” Exxon/Mobil by a one-day boycott. The last time I heard this argument I looked up what the split on a gallon of gas was.

It turns out the oil companies get a little less than half the money. The rest goes to refineries, transportation, retail sales and taxes. this does not leave the “greedy” oil companies a whole lot of profit, which the millions of Exxon shareholders expect.

I would also like to point out that the USA has the cheapest gas, by far, compared to most countries in the world due to the efficiency of Exxon/Mobil. thanks Exxon/Mobil for this.
