Giving a public trustee a raise of $8,000 per year for three consecutive years, when he were doing fine at his present salary, not leaving but loving the appointment, is a real joke when the entire state is scrapping for funds.

You can always figure more taxes when some political parties take over and start throwing bones to their buddies and special interests. It is tax and spend in Colorado now, just wait until January, with a new president, and watch it snowball at the federal level also!

Funny how things come about. It was a Republican governor who appointed the last public trustee, Barbara Brewer, who promptly required a separate location–and staff– when the public trustee duties were perviously handled within county government. Right or wrong, the current trustee was appointed by a new governor due to the precedent that was set in Mesa County. Mr. Sherman should more properly be upset about the number of appointed poltical positions–sinecures?–in state government. Both parties play the game. And commenting on federal positions increasing if there is a new Democratic president? Give me a break! After this administration’s wholesale destruction of our government by appointed political hacks and the huge increase in the size of government? What planet is Sherman from with his tired implication of those “tax and spend” Democrats?
