The Mesa County Department of Human Services and Workforce Center recently challenged Hilltop Community Resources and Colorado West Mental Health to a friendly competition to collect canned food items for Homeward Bound of the Grand Valley.

Together, all four agencies collected over 2,300 items, which were donated to Homeward Bound. Items included canned foods, toiletries, paper products, diapers, etc.
In addition to staff participation, Hilltop went above and beyond by including a generous financial contribution to benefit families at the homeless shelter.

We want to take this opportunity to thank the staff of all four agencies for their generosity and support of community programs such as Homeward Bound of the Grand Valley. A special thanks to Caroline Mitchell and members of the DHS “Fun Bunch” for managing and organizing this important event.

Homeward Bound of the Grand Valley is one of many organizations dedicated to helping our community’s most vulnerable population. If everyone does a little, together we can do a lot!
