Illegal Immigrants live free in America, freer than Americans do. America doesn’t have to go out of our borders to outsource its workers. The big companies can do it right here at home, and do.
The illegal makes his way across our borders, gets a job (”outsourcing” that pays less than minimum wage).
My background is in construction. Before I became a single dad, I was billing $24 an hour for drywall finish work. How many illegals can you get for $24 an hour? A lot more than one single man.
The employer doesn’t pay workman’s comp and the illegal doesn’t pay taxes. The employer pockets a higher profit margin than if he were paying his legal share of doing business in the United States and the illegal sends more than half his wages back home, removing from our joint efforts in the prospering of America.
If we keep on printing more money in a dead-end effort to revitalize our economy, keeping the money here at home would help. We are funnelizing our economy. Instead of creating, filling, spending and growing larger, our economy has a hole in it. Millions of our U.S. dollars are going south, literally.
I’d like to ask the general public when they think they have had enough of this to do something about changing the status quo?

Ask a majority of Republicans in Congress, particularly Senators who threaten cloture–60 votes needed to pass anything after filibuster. A comprehensive plan to deal with the issue that even had Bush’s support was shot down. Republicans held out for an unworkable border-long fence and an equally unworkable roundup of 12 to 15 million undocumenteds to deport them. Why shot down? Because businessmen, who donate heavily to Republican candidates, who hire illegals don’t agree with you. You are a working stiff and your needs are not even close to being on their radar. It’s always amazing to hear the Republican talking points being espoused by those who the Republicans with money, the only ones who count, hold in contempt. Talk about brain washing! Read the toxic comments by many of the denizens of this blog and I’ll bet everyone of them has moneyed Republicans laughing at them behind their backs.It’s great to have yahoos yelling the party line that will end up screwing them.

Well, now we know how much you paid attention.
The stupid plan granted amnesty, and a quck trip to Citizenship for any and all illegal aliens in this country.
The fence plan is solid.
Nobody said anything about “rounding up” all the illegal aliens.
If current laws are enforced, there will be no jobs available for illegals and they will self-deport.
Now all we have to do is cure the problem of filling the jobs that “Americans won’t do”.
First we need to find out what those “jobs” are.
Second we need to teach people not to listen to politicians, it only makes them sound foolish.

I just wish I could figure out how to be an illegal!!! They have low cost, if not free, housing, they get food stamps, and something I would LOVE to have, health care!!!! Not to mention the fact that when I would need a vacation, I could get picked up buy INS, deported, and then be back in two weeks to get on with my life. What a way to live!!!!

Hey, Willis, if you don’t round up all the aliens what do you do with them?If part of the plan isn’t to find a way to positively identify them how do you prevent them from work? If you don’t have a plan to give employers a proof-positive way to identify aliens how can you hold them accountable? When employers don’t want to identify them and find any way they can to say they gave it an honest try how do you prosecute them? How do you constantly check up on employers to see who they have and what steps they took to verify their legality? Details, details. The Republican fence plan was a farce without any consideration for all these details and was political grandstanding to show how tough they were and that they were on the case. It’s you that drank the kool-Aid.

We need to contact Ken Salazar and tell him we want to fill out the paper work to to be illegal aliens so we can get all those free government benefits.

My thoughts on how best to solve those problems would be to put you in charge.
As intelligent and quick thinking as you are, it should be a snap.

I think we should bring all our troops back from south korea guarding their border so they can come back and guard ours, speaking of which, we could do the same thing with all of our troops stationed all over the world and have by far the most secure border the world has ever seen. Believe me, with the amount of power our military carries, making our border and coastline impenetrable is well within our capability. Second, I think we should offer a process by which illegals could become citizens. Individuals in the US could learn english and take a citizenship test to become one of us. I love mexicans and if our government is too sloppy and socialist to take care of shutting our border down then it is our own fault of letting it happen.

Well most of you have some great ideas, Willis_Leon_Johnson, your the man! To really get things going in our favor is to have those who are employed by “us” the people, is to have them do their jobs. Like I.C.E. or anyone of our local Law Enforcement Agencies. Collectively, letting them know by writing letters, and making phone calls, to them directly and also to “our” governmental agencies, set to control this issue, may make changes, (I doubt it after what I have been through recently, but pissing people off is what I am really good at, so I try). Verbalizing it here is great, but are the ones who can makes the changes we need reading this blog? I agree that we need to remove the carrot from the ever increasing illegal white-rabbit, the second cousin of the pink elephant, when the food is gone, so disappears the rabbit, or maybe it’s turned into a stew, but either way it would find another place to eat.

To add insult to injury, our border patrol agents are being jailed for doing thier jobs. They throw rocks and shoot across the border. They make “booby traps”, Stringing clear wire from one thing to the next trying to hurt agents patrolling on ATV’s.
When is the maddness going to end? I like the fence plan, Think I will ever see it emplemented in my lifetime?
