Where are our priorities? We have a huge front-page story about how an incarcerated attempted murderer is missing his birthday party and we have to look at his lonely, sad, girlfriends face. But the spelling-bee winners who were already shafted once by the school district get it again this time by The Daily Sentinel by being relegated to a back section and getting a much smaller write up. Do they think smart doesn’t warrant decent recognition? Is it not sensational enough for them?
Thanks so much to the radio station for showing how important education and good choices are.

Agreed! I was talking to my dad the other day and we chose to focus on the TWO positive news pieces we read that day. TWO.
I guess the injustice of them not getting to go in the first place isn’t news either. The only way these kids get recognized is to do something criminal. You could bet your bottom dollar they would print that before the fact that they are scholars, bright young kids in our community.
I would love to read the news one morning and not have the urge to shower again.
