If our state legislators want to raise millions of dollars per year for road repair by imposing a toll on vehicles, I have a better suggestion on how we can instantly acquire $3.3 million per year. We can do this by not paying politicians for their 110 days in session.
Most of them are lawyers, realtors or business owners and make six-figure incomes and do not need the $33,000 income for the 110 days they are in session. And if, as Sen. Chris Romer likes to spout off, they care so much for Colorado and it’s citizenry, then they should volunteer their time to serve the state.
