When is it a baby?

A woman gets pregnant but doesn’t want the baby. She can only have an abortion up to five months along in most cases. After that it’s against the law.

On the other hand, someone can kill a woman who’s 8 1/2 months pregnant and the law says her then unborn child is not a life. It sounds like a double standard. If you can’t see, hear or feel it, is it not a life?

My 18 year old was born at 8 1/2 months and I would love to be a fly on the wall if somone tried to tell her that because she was born 2 weeks early, she wasn’t really a person at the time of her birth. Same goes for my older daughter’s child who was born 3 weeks early.

The fact that the law is trying to define life based on the fact that emergency c sections were performed in these two cases is nothing short of ridiculous. I am having a very hard time understanding why this question is even on the table. I know several women who gave birth by emergency c sections and there was never a question as to whether their children were “persons”. My brother was born by emergency c section and died a short time later. He was given a birth certificate, named and buried the same as any other person is that has passed on. If a child is born ALIVE under any circumstances, it is a person and a life… it matters not one bit how long that life exists, IT IS STILL A LIFE.

Debbie, the pro-choicers will always find ways to sleep better at night justifying the ending of life as their choice. I agree with you, they live under a double standard. I wonder if one of these unfortunate situations touched one of their children or grandchildren or nieces or sisters, would they still feel the same way? Would they still view an unborn child as a non-person?

My niece, Kylar, is a miracle baby. She was due in may sometime but was born march 7th. She just had her first birthday and is normal, happy and healthy dispite only being 4 pounds at birth.

She was definetly a life, she was strong and fought for it. even two months early.
