I support Mr. Obama for president of the United States. It’s about time that Jimmy Carter stepped aside as the worst president in recent history and gave somebody else a chance.

Not to worry, Helkowski. George “destroy America” Bush has already let terrorists to attack our country and received his title as the worst president in American history. A title which is obvious he does not want to give up, what with his destruction of the American economy and his Sisyphus war.

Can’t let someone like Deneb get away with it! In my opinion George W Bush will go down as one of the greatest Presidents ever. Hopefully you will be alive when that is determined.
America has not been destroyed under his watch, we are doing just fine. And before you holler recession—-we are not in one—-a recession is defined, I believe, as three consecutive quarters of negative growth, we have not had one yet!
No I am not thrilled by any of the 3 candidates, I would just as soon keep the one we have for another term or two.

Stephen - do yourself a favor and watch the film “Jimmy Carter - Man From Plains.” Perhaps that will help with your amnesia or history-challenged ailment. Any recollection about real energy conservation practices? Middle East peace agreements? Iran hostage release without war or incident? Do any of these things ring a bell?
Follow that film with “No End in Sight” or “Body of War” or “Why We Fight.” Maybe then you’ll be armed with some facts….like our $2.5+ trillion national debt - with nearly 80% of that occurring during the Reagan and daddy/son Bush years.
Remember W = WORST EVER

Let’s see, history challenged?
“real energy conservation practices”?
Fuel shortages causing block long lines at the gas stations NATIONWIDE. Yup, brings tears to my eyes.
“Middle East Peace agreements”?
Pretty peaceful there for the last 30 years. Little jimmy also helped throw the Shah of Iran out of office and gave that terrorist supporting nation to the nutcases. Yup, tears of joy over them happy memories.
“Iran hostage release without war”?
There’s a memory of helicopters burned in the desert because he was too inept to “rescue” the hostages, a situation directly caused by his failures at foreign relations.
And the hostages were not released until President Reagan took the oath of office.
“$2.5+ trillion national debt “???
That statistic is from an old history book.
And the debt is not caused by any sitting President, but by the uncontrolled spending by the congresses they have to deal with.
Have a nice day Yoric.

Right O, Willis - keep your nose down on USA Today & the GJ Sentinel - all the facts you need to know. You’d be wise to hold back the tears, because you’ll soon need plenty of them. Courtesy of the Bush reign. You’re right - my stats are already dated - the Iraq Occupation alone has put us in the hole for $2+ trillion (+ 4000 US dead + 300,000 [to upwards of 1,000,000 Iraqis dead]). And look at the wonderous results/accomplishments thus far! Block-long lines for fuel? That will soon be in your dreams after you’ve waited days to get fuel. Peak oil is here, now, and we’d be in a much better position with a real energy policy had someone like Carter remained in office.

And THANK YOU for opening your mouth and removing all doubt.
Yer so cute with your childish fantasies.
Is this one of those “role playing games” where you get to pretend that yer a wizard or a magician?

first off, mr hunt (always thought that was the stupidest joke) jimmy carter was most likely one of the worst presidents in history…i will not knock his statesmanship since he left office, but i don’t see a lot of common sense in quite a few of his statements and actions…as for bush, i don’t want him for another term, and unfortunately don’t see a worthy choice out of the candidates we do have….i’m sure you will be voting for billary or osama, tho, am i correct?

Mccain is the only chioce I see…. Hey Willis, enlighten me…. Why do we have to do everything the hard way? It seems to me the american people should have a few choices, but we don’t. Not really anyway. My dad says to choose the lesser of two evils. Great choices we have. Can someone explain this to me? I think we need a new process for pickin a president. I havent thought of a process that might work yet… I am just sayin…. =0) Good Morning all!

The best way would be to get everybody to stop giving money to the two major parties and just donate to the person you support.
Push for the FAIR TAX proposal that Boortz preaches on.
That will take a lot of power away from the federal politicians.
And my favorite, make the “news” a public service the way it was in the early days of TV.
No advertising was sold during the 1/2 hour time slot.
No revenue, no wasting time on trivial garbage. Report the news and get to revenue producing shows.
Require “commentary” shows to be labeled as such.
I’m even in favor of licensing “journalists”, with professional standards watchdogs with the power to jerk the licenses. (Dan Blather comes to mind)
They license everybody else, why not the “news” media?

A good reason not to vote for Obama is this statement he made recently:
“My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world.
I hope you’ll join with me as we try to change it.”
