Actually, I was appropriating the image of the Lake of Fire from Judeo-Christian mythology, to make jokes about Charon and the River Styx, from Greek Mythology. You know, it was a joke. As I said before, I have no problem with the original letter writer’s being proud of children being lined up and old to wave flags. Heck, they probably enjoyed it.
We were, in fact, discussing that concept in jest. Your taking it so seriously is quite humorous, as well.

My Lord, people…. you’re talking about CHILDREN!

They have no political agenda, no religious fanaticism, no ulterior motives. On the first pass by, the kids wanted to see the motorcade, they had the opportunity and the school administration took the opportunity. I dare say that if the motorcade had passed by a public school, that school’s administration would have taken the opportunity, as well. Let’s give the little ones a break!

The second pass was used as a photo op… so what? Why is that a problem? Because it was VP Cheney and not Hillary or Obama or Governor Ritter? You honestly think they wouldn’t have made the same request?

curmudgeon and chancho… this is the Bible’s description of the lake you two are so intent on discussing in jest and what follows being tossed into it… doesn’t sound like a boat would help you much:

let’s hope that the HF school principal is raked over the coals by inquisitive parents who don’t support the war machine. doens’t seem like this would be something true catholics would condone.

Very well stated RL. Further, how many lies can one church possibly heap upon their children: that somehow Cheney is an honorable man and not subject to numerous impeachable offenses? That birth control is wrong & immoral? That virgin birth is real? That church pedophiles deserve special protections & bailouts?

It’s time to end these dark times, and demand that faith answer to reason.
