The latest attempt to usurp our private property rights has been exposed. This consists of an 85-page document entitled “Delta County Subdivision Regulations 2008.” The two term-limited Delta County Commissioners, Jan McCracken and Wayne Wolf, appear to be spearheading the passage of this monster.

Seems like there exists a disease called “term-limiteditis.” A few short years ago, Delta County Commissioner Jan McCracken and then term-limited Commissioner Ted Hayden tried to jam through countywide building codes. Fortunately over 400 of us concerned citizens showed up to protest.

Maybe it’s time for us to do the same. Farm splits will be all but economically impossible under these proposed regulations. Housing will be out of the reach of our children and grandchildren.
