It has always baffled me that in this country that we can allow people to have to go without food because prices are too high.
It amazes me that this administration is so blind, as does the comment from the vice president in reply to the fact that many do not like him. Well of course he can say this he only has til January 2009 then he can go back to Haliburton. He and Bush have no clue and could care less if the people in this country can meet the needs of daily life!
It doesn’t matter how much we ask for help. Just look at the problems still from Katrina along with all the other disasters.
Oh, let’s not forget that John McCain wants to do more of the same and Gen. Petraeus won’t give any straight answers to the war. Yet we can see that “the surge” clearly isn’t working and this after all is Bush’s war.
It’s more important to send the shuttle to the space station then to make sure those who need Medicare/Medicaid services because of pre-existing conditions have that care.

My, oh my. Faye, get over it. How many people do you know who are going without food? Are you blaming the Bush administration for high food prices? It appears that you are. Do you know how many billions have been allocated to the Katrina disaster? Apparently not. John MCCain wants to do what that is more of the same? He wants to cause higher food prices? He wants to call for more hurricanes? And you have swallowed the liberal line that the surge hasn’t worked.
Perhaps your hatred of Bush has blinded you. And you think McCain will be just as bad. Well, Faye, get used to it. Until the Democrats figure out that this country is not ready to vote for a super liberal in the White House, republicans will continue to reside there.

Sure thang, Bulldog…super liberal - is that something like Superman? Someone who can mop up the huge wake of 8 years’ devastation caused by Bush & Co. - to the tune of 16 billion dollars per month pissed away in the never-ending Iraq occupation (don’t even call it a war, cause it ain’t); domestic economy on the verge of implosion; sky high energy costs and no plan for any alternative way of doing things (stay the course!); health care system in cardiac arrest; environnmental laws gutted; sky high food prices, as we’ve insanely try to convert food crops into liquid fuels; USA irrelevance on the world stage & world economy; etc., etc., etc.
Are you faring quite well under the Bush regime? If so - how so? Or, are you just another simpleton holding one edge of the blanket (or flag) over the smoldering fire before the whole thing explodes in our face?
And - McCain - just as bad or worse than Bush & Co.? Recall what your hero Pat Buchanan said (on the prospects of war as a chosen lifestyle for us): “if McCain gets elected, he’ll make Dick Cheney look like Ghandi”

Oh Chancho, more liberal drivel. It must be hard to not be able to figure out why this terrible man named Bush could not be beaten by the last two Democratic candidates. Maybe you should consider the possibility that the blame everybody but themselves Democrats have no clue what this country wants and needs. They don’t want someone who looks the other way, as Clinton did, when terrorists attacked the US over, and over, and over, again and he did nothing. They don’t want to have the government play nanny to everyone who is too lazy to get ahead. They don’t want a president who plays Robin Hood. They don’t want a party that raises taxes and raises taxes and raises taxes. They want a party that believes in personal responsibility. Do Republicans make mistakes? Of course they do. But the fact that only one Democrat has been elected president in the last 27 years (thanks to Ross Perot)should make it plainly evident to you that liberalism is not what this country wants. Liberalism has been proven to be a failure in Europe and the vast majority of Americans don’t want the failed policies tried there to be imposed here. So, Chancho, get some anti-depressants. The current Democratic candidates are so bad that even with a bad economy and an unpopular war (or whatever you choose to call it), the Republicans will win the White House again.

Gosh, what an inspirational response - it’s like trying to talk to a parrot that’s been perched against its will in front of Fox News or CNN for 24 hours. Personal responsibility, read, the conservative church of me, my, mine?…and all others be damned.
My question was - are you doing well under the Bush regime? Relevanat questions to ask yourself, such as: Is everything how you anticipated it to be? Skies are friendly? Roads are smooth? Air & water untainted? Compound interest on your side & IRA chock full? Everyone you know well fed & well educated & gainfully employed? Rivers & lakes are bank full? Wild animals & wild places solidly protected for the kiddos, and those yet unborn? No issues with healthcare or insurance? Taxes in check? Food supply is totally secure?
Have you ever pondered the fact that the US spends more than $600 billion annually on the Pentagon budget, 10 times more than the number two military budget (the UK @ $59 billion). Any thoughts about what China has been up to, as we selfpromote ourselves as the world’s chosen police force? Heck, China only spends $50 billion/yr on the military.
Perhaps it’s time for radical change. One that will divert the US off the fast-track as we lurch headlong into the status of a “failed state”, courtesy of your chosen warlords like Bush & Co.
And, the appropriate response to the headline of this letter - “The Government’s Priorities are Confused” would be “HELL YES, any moron could recognize that.”

Is this a private spat or can I join in?
“Chancho” tp answer a few of your questions.
“My question was - are you doing well under the Bush regime? ”
Yes, but I did well under the impeached president clinton, Bush#1, Reagan, even fairly well under the greatest failure in the office, jimmy carter.
“Is everything how you anticipated it to be?”
No, because The current President, is even worse on the domestic issues than clinton, but he hasn’t been impeached, and his wife knows where he is at night.
“Skies are friendly? ”
Well, since 9/11 there has been no attacks by air in the US.
“Roads are smooth?”
Where in the Constitution is “roads” specifically enumerated to the federal government? (read the 10th Amendment)
“Air & water untainted? ”
See above answer.
“Compound interest on your side & IRA chock full? ”
None of your business, but pretty much taken care of.
“Everyone you know well fed & well educated & gainfully employed? ”
Most everybody that has made the effort to take care of themselves. The lazy are entitled to what they are willing to work for and EARN.
” Rivers & lakes are bank full?”
Not our job, nor is it the job or responsibility of the President, regardless of party affilitaion.
“Wild animals & wild places solidly protected for the kiddos, and those yet unborn?”
Well, not protected from the nutcases crying about whatever the whine du jour is, but we’re working on it.
“No issues with healthcare or insurance?”
Yeah, except for that part of MY tax money that pays for lazy people and illegal aliens.
“Taxes in check? ”
No, too many unconstitutional federal giveaway programs to buy votes from stupid, lazy people.
” Food supply is totally secure? ”
I can afford to go to the grocery store and buy my own groceries with my own money. How you doing?
“Have you ever pondered the fact that the US spends more than $600 billion annually on the Pentagon budget, 10 times more than the number two military budget (the UK @ $59 billion). ”
So, we have our military defense needs, Great Britain has theirs.
What is your question?
” Any thoughts about what China has been up to,”
Yes, been curious ever since clinton sold our military technology to get satellites into orbit to the Chinese government for illegal political donations.
“Heck, China only spends $50 billion/yr on the military. ”
Ya really think that’s all the C hinese government spends on their military?
Every dime the Chinese government spends is for the benefit of their military, the government is the military. Or, more accurately, the military is the government.
Any more questions that you have unanswered?
I am sure there are plenty of people fully capable answering them for you.

Ms. Smith @ Chancho: As you see from the canned response, your attempts to raise serious questions always meet with the same “canned” responses from the same crowd of self-indoctrinated. For such individuals, logic and facts are unimportant. Do they “believe” that they are right? They absolutely do. In their theoretical world, not only are they “right”, they actually believe that because they are “right”, but they carry it one step further. Because they do believe, the also consider themselves superior and, in such a world, any disagreement is not to be tolerated. For such individuals, even the possibility they might be “wrong” on anything would mean the end of their universe. That is why, there is no trace of “social conscience” or acceptance of any “social responsibility” in any of their positions. Their existence is one where they are the “center of the universe” and nothing else matters but them. It is an extremely egocentric and narcissistic one. There is nothing anyone can do about it. They are the ones who blindly entered this vortex of absolutism, and they are the only ones who are capable of exiting. As most of them do not even know that they are, do not expect them to escape. Rather, they will expend every effort to draw others in.

Absolutism and closed-mindedness give a person a false sense of strength and rightness, because even considering anyone else’s perspective frightens them to the core. Accepting that you may not be completely right about something is terrifying, because it means you have to take responsibility for your own opinion. It’s far easier to insult, scoff, and fall back on the same old, “You’re wrong, so shut up (insert opponent’s name, or childish permutation of the opponent’s name, here).”
Frankly, those elemetns of bullishfrog and Willis’ posts are remarkably similar, in that respect. Eerily similar, in fact. And they call *us* brainwashed…..

Funny to see how the liberals call those who do not agree them close minded. You read curmudgeon’s diatribe and you see no debate on facts. No, liberals just love to sound like they are the only ones who are compassionate, who believe in the truth, who know what’s best. They believe that the US is reponsible for all that is bad in the world. This is why it is not surprising that Barak Obama would sit thorugh 20 years of Reverend Wright’s hate sermons and then have him officiate at his wedding. Because Reverend Wright sounds just like some professors at the University of Colorado and liberals love that kind of hate talk. And then, when they find that they cannot get a presidential candidate elected, who thinks and talks like a liberal, they go find someone or something to blame. They simply cannot understand that their ideas are not shared by the majority of Americans and, hopefully, never will be.

Like I said….eerily similar, huh?

Oh… the super educated one said I used “canned” responses.
Odd thing their bobbie, there was nothing “canned” in my response to a different poster, but I got stuck with your canned straight down the party line garbage.
Why no honest attempt at providing a serious refutation of my position?
Why is it always name calling and liberal crying?
I know a lot of people that live in Delta, and they don’t have a problem carrying on a conversation, so it must not be the water.
But you keep right on trying to make people think that you really do have a brain.

And “chancho”,
I answered your questions, would yoou care to respond with a little intellectual honesty?
Or is going to be more of the liberal name calling and deflection of the issues at hand?
Inquiring minds want to know.
