I’m sorry to hear San Miguel County is leaving Club 20. Mr. Goodtimes is not living up to his name. In short words, he’s a poor looser and I don’t consider that leadership. San Miguel County has every right to withdraw from Club 20, but to try and splinter a wonderful Western Slope voice is shameful. His side-kick, Jim Spehar has a similar problem. He was soundly defeated by Kathy Hall, the President of Club 20, in the County Commissioner’s race. He then was elected to the Grand Junction City Council and left our citizens with the ridiculous, expensive, ambulance fiasco. Thanks a lot for that lemon, which was doing fine in the private domain.
On the positive side, Reeves Brown facilitates all interests of the Western Slope through his position as Executive Director of Club 20. I know because my husband, Bob, has been a member of Club 20 for years.
At our own expensive, we went to Washington, D.C. last year to listen, learn, and lobby for Western Colorado. Interests concerning national security and defense, immigration, transportation, agriculture, parks, BLM, forests, diversified energies, health and education were all covered.
Club 20 is more than one county, one interest, or one person!
Adieu, Art. More than likely, San Miguel County realizes there are other representatives from their area who can truly collaborate with the Western Slope and will be back in Club 20.

Seems like an objective, unbiased opinion, doesn’t it? More good old us-versus- them, Republican versus Democrat rhetoric. Face it, the energy industry has infiltrated Club 20 and the western slope will not be beneficiaries, except of course, for those who are in the industry or those who are its stooges, as, for instance, Kathy Hall. And she having beat Jim Spehar has what meaning to this subject? You gotta hand it to those energy folks, though. Spread a little money around and the world is your oyster!
