My sincerest thanks goes to Grand Junction Parks Department staff Mike Venegna, Shawn Cooper, Tracy Weiland and Eddie Mort, all of whom attended our open house at Burkey Park recently.

With their assistance, area residents were able to review the park’s most recent master plan, submit written comments and have their questions answered.

My thanks also goes out to County Commissioner Steve Acquafresca, who took the time to visit with us and learn more about this project. These fine folks truly take an interest and represent us well.

To City Council members, I would like to thank you for the improvements scheduled to take place this summer at Burkey Park, and hope that this will represent just the first of many development phases which culminate in a completed and vital public recreational amenity for the northeast area.
