Regardless of how much my students learned last year, their scores on the state-mandated tests apparently did not show their progress. Equally unfortunate, some misguided people use only CSAP scores to determine student, teacher and school success.
Nevertheless, I am approaching the coming school year with renewed determination as I, once again, eagerly face old and new challenges. However, I refuse to teach to a test.
As always, I will continue to promote critical thinking skills as I creatively present our school district’s solid curriculum. I will also continue to treat all of my students with respect and compassion. We will work on weak areas and celebrate daily accomplishments. If CSAP scores improve, so be it.

Thank you, Mr. Lisco! I wish very much that there were more teachers like you!
