One might consider Dan Robinson naive to even consider that Mesa County Commissioner Craig Meis would respond to an appeal to ethics, morality or concern for the welfare of Mesa County when doing so would conflict with his personal business interests and individual income. Mr. Meis has been consistent during his term in office in placing his personal interests above those of his constituents. Our only hope for recourse is to elect an honest, honorable and ethical commissioner to replace Mr. Meis.

We have obtained documents concerning the whole proposed Temporary Employee Housing Amendments question through the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA). These are most revealing. The documents demonstrate among other things for example that the proposed language of the amendments has routinely been coordinated at every step along the way with representatives of Delta Petroleum, Black Hills Petroleum, Plains Exploration and Production Company, and several other oil and gas or oil service companies. Letters and emails have flown back and forth between the County Commissioners and such people as John Martini who spoke longly and loudly at the recent meeting in favor of leaving the amendments as they were (i.e. without adequate protection for the land owner).
Commissioner Rowland excused this by saying that it was just communicating with the public!! Yet no such information was provided to the Western Colorado Congress whose legitimate interest in this issue is a matter of public record.
Since Black Hills Petroleum is an acknowledged contributer to the political campaign of of Commissioner Meis and since his Company does business in several areas with Delta Petroleum, the whole affair once again has that bad odor of conflict of interest. It is perfectly legitimate for Mr. Robinson to ask: Whose interests are the County Commissioners serving??????

One of the problems with Craig Meis serving as county commissioner is that even though an issue before the commissioners may not directly involve a particular contract with his company(Cordillian) many times the company involved is a client of his company. A case in point was the Delta Petroleum case where they did not get a proper building permit for a compressor station before starting construction. The county attorney fluffed over the fact that Delta Petroleum was indeed a client of Cordillian, past and present. Among other things maybe Lyle Dechant should exercise greater ethical concern in his advisements to the commissioners.

As for Mr. Meis, he has shown himself to be pompous, self-absorbed, dishonest, and exactly what the narrow-minded folks in Happy Valley deserve. On the issue of a “cash bond”, please keep in mind that any monies posted would have to go into his managed “facility” account, as he has had a problem spending too much money on fart-related gag items from the Lilian Vernon catalog, and pictures of Sean Hannity in his underwear.

Dr. Freud - Thank you for letting us all know that Willis is in a safe and protected facility. We were very worried about him being left alone in his trailer, shooting prairie dogs from his back porch.
It’s got to be really hard for Willis to face life on a day-to-day basis with all his supposed physical and mental infirmities.
But he has an added burden we atheists don’t have. As he sits, confined to his wheelchair and breathing through a plastic tube, he must, as a fervent evangelical Christian, face the prospect that his failed life, broken dreams, and physical infirmities are divine punishments visited on him by a cruel and vengeful God for the myriad of sins he has committed in his life.

J. Eugene Fox is a person with no manly traits, obvious mental problems probably related to his prostate surgery.
He has nothing of value to offer society, but insists on continuously making an ass of himself in public.
When called on his lies, he has a tendency to run away and hide and beg his minions to cover for his failures.
His professional life was somewhat of a failure, and his jealousy of others in his field, as well as other scientific fields shows through quite regularly. Even in fields where he has no expertise.
He operates from a level below the gutter, and thinks ground level is a goal to high for him to attain in this life, so he maintains his role as leader of the worms and slimy bugs that crawl around under rocks.
