I find it almost hilarious that two people who hope to take the oath to defend this country against all enemies, foreign or domestic, are so totally flustered for several weeks by an opponent who is a 44- year-old mother of five, with no foreign experience from Alaska. Sort of makes you wonder how they would handle a real threat.

A real threat? Some people need to get out of the ‘red phone’ at 3AM mentality. That is how things work in movies, not in the real world. In the real world, a threat may come in many forms. The secret is to recognize and understand them, and react appropriately. As always, the biggest threat comes from ourselves, something that we see all too prevalent, not only here in “Happy Valley”, but nationally as well. And that makes many people easily controlled by one of the basest and most primal instincts, fear. That, coupled with the inate selfishness exhibited by many, are the components that create a perfect and highly destructive storm for this society.
