Regarding the recent article about the COGCC’s “staff” recommending that the rule for a 90-day moratorium on drilling in wildlife areas be dropped appears once again to be the case of a public entity placing the interests of the energy industry above the interests of the public and the environment.
Just who are the members of this “staff” and do they have any connection to the energy industry or stand to profit personally from any of the energy industry’s activities? It appears that the commissioners on the COGCC are very reluctant to reveal just who these “staff” members are or why they seem to always follow their recommendations.

You can look at the staff by going to http://cogcc.state.co.us/ and go to the general page selected on the left. Then go to commission makeup. You can also go to Commissioner Biographical Sketches for more info. Yes, there are people on the commission connected to the industry. There are also people connected to environmental, landowners, agriculture, wildlife, and different political parties
