If the government wants to spend $700 billion, we can help them do it. Give it back to the struggling people in our country.
There are people who don’t eat every day, who don’t have money for medical treatments they need, who can’t afford transportation or housing. Why on Earth would our “leaders” bailout millionaires, who have caused their own demise and that of our country’s economy? Can somebody please explain this to me?

Hmmm, if I remember correctly, it was just yesterday in response to the failure of the bailout plan to pass that the stock market dropped 770+ points. But I don’t remember a report anywhere that those were not retiree stocks, school teacher stocks, fireman stocks. Surely, if the plan is just to “bail out the millionaireds” then the losses were all stocks belonging to millionaires, right?
Wrong! Like it or not, this is woven into the basic fabric of the financial system around the world. Check the news today of several European countries havng to bailout some of their banks. No one is going to be immune to the effects if a collapse happens.
Yes, the millionaires are probably going to survive better than the average Joe if the system is saved or crashes. But the average Joe is going to pay a proportionally higher price if the system goes down.
A plan needs to be implemented to put out the fire. Then plans need to be made and regulatory systems need to be put into effect to keep it from happening again. The supposed “free market” is not now, nor has it ever been “free”.
