After reading so many articles I find it quite disturbing that we have County Commissioner Craig Meis in office.

His opinion toward the less fortunate in our community is appalling. He reminds one of tax collectors for the monarchies in Europe way back when. Mr. Meis does not understand that most of those less fortunate people are trying to get their lives back together, but with high rent, inflating groceries and economic prices, day care and low wages, it makes for them a very hard climb back up the mountain.

We, as a community, should support and help the efforts of those trying to build themselves a better way of life, not turn our heads.

Mr. Meis and his sidekick, Janet Rowland, need to spend a few weeks in the homeless shelter. It might give them a different perspective and some compassion for those less fortunate.
