Why is Joe the Plumber really voting Republican?
John McCain brought up Joe the Plumber in the last debate to demonstrate how a struggling want-to-be small businessman would suffer under Barack Obama’s tax proposals.
As it turned out, Joe is not a licensed plumber but works in a plumbing shop for a reported income of about $40,000 per year. He has the goal of buying the business and netting at least $250,000 a year. Under Obama’s tax proposal his taxes would then increase, which would prohibit his buying the business.
A business netting $250,000 per year would be a steal at a price of $1 million and more likely has a market value of several million dollars. How does an individual who now makes $40,000 aspire to such a lofty goal?
Joe the pseudo plumber also indicated that he had grown up in the south and he subsequently was very unhappy to learn that he had been born in Toledo, Ohio, and therefore was a “Yankee.”

Yep. I was also insulted with that “Poor yankee me” bit. Made me really wonder why Joe really dislikes Obama. Do I really need to come right out and say it?? Nah …
