A question many of us are asking ourselves is: Who is the best choice to lead our country right now? I believe our choices are less than we deserve.
The greatest country on Earth and the best this two-year process could conclude with is Barrack Obama and John McCain. That alone is sad, to say the least. I come at this from a conservative point of view and neither candidate holds conservative views. So, for me it’s a vote for the lesser of two evils. Seems like that has been my choice for several presidential elections now.

Obama has been tying McCain to President Bush and saying just more of the same. That may be true to some extent, He does want to make the tax cuts Bush gave us permanent. He does want to win the war on terror and I believe he will continue to keep the measures in place to keep this nation safe. Say what you will about President Bush, he has done a lot of good, but that is for another time. McCain may govern similar to President Bush. At least I know what we will get.

Now for Obama; We are the second-highest-taxed country in the industrialized world. That is one of the reasons corporations are moving off shore and taking jobs with them. We need either the consumption tax or the flat tax system. Sen. Obama keeps talking about fair. What could be more fair than paying a tax when you buy something. The rich will automatically pay more because they will buy more.
Using our tax system as a punishment is just wrong and it will cost jobs. Obama claims no new taxes for anyone making under $250,000, $200,000 or $150,000, depending on the place and crowd, I guess. The numbers have been all over the board.
The Bush tax cuts expire in 2010. If they are allowed to expire, everybody’s tax will go up to the previous rates. That is a tax increase. Secondly, how can you give a tax break for 95 percent of Americans if 40 percent of them don’t pay federal income taxes at all? Payroll taxes such as Social Security are not income taxes, so don’t tell me that everybody pays income taxes. The only way this 40 percent gets a tax break is a welfare check from all of us who do pay income taxes.
Which brings me to redistribution. Call it anything you want, Obama, when you take hard-earned money from one person and give it to another it is socialist, not fairness. Thank you, Joe the plumber for finally asking a question to get the real Obama to speak. Sorry for the anal exam you have been put through for simply asking a presidential candidate a question.
Looks like that may be the way Obama would govern though. If anybody ask questions his administration doesn’t like, his people will either try and ruin them or blackball them as they did the news station in Orlando, Fla.
He also seems to be in favor of the “Fairness Doctrine.” Our First Amendment right could be in jeopardy with an Obama administration.
Mr. Obama’s associations are troubling for me. When you associate yourself with thugs, admitted terrorists, admitted marxists and anarchists, isn’t that reason for pause? Bet it would be front page forever if McCain associated with Klansman, but Obama gets a pass.
Obama voted four times in the Illinois State Senate for what is tantamount to infanticide. Google “Obama infanticide” and read it or view a You Tube for yourself. Obama voted four times to punish private citizens for using firearms in their own homes for protection of themselves and their family. He has also supported votes to ban hand gun ownership and concealed carry. This doesn’t give me a real good feeling about our 2nd Amendment rights.
Our courts are of great concern for me. I believe Obama’s judgeship appointments would be very left wing and not constitutionalist. Our Constitution is what has helped to keep this country great. It is not a living document and our laws should not be changed based on European law and activist judges.
In closing, McDonald’s wouldn’t raise a fry cook to district manager after 143 days on the job, A private doesn’t become general after 143 days in the military. You couldn’t become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience. You couldn’t get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor on CNN or even MSNBC after 143 days on the job. Obama has 143 actual days on the job as a U.S. senator. Remember, he’s been campaigning for two years and not on the job but we are still paying both of them. Senator is a good start, Obama, but your not qualified to be commander in chief of the United States of America.

While Mr. Riddle is correct in his analysis of Obama, the review of John McCain’s shortcomings are lacking. Indeed, both are a pathetic choice of the lessers.

I disagree that our choices are less than we deserve. They reflect exactly the fruits of an uninformed, lazy electorate reaping what they sow in a democratic process governed by a two party system.
