Congratulations to the Grand Junction Police Department for conducting a prostitution sting operation in Grand Junction. With state registration only months away for massage therapists, the individuals who offer prostitution under the name of “oriental massage” need to be identified as such. I would guess those individuals are not educated in the  complexities of massage therapy such as human anatomy, pathology, kinesiology and ethics, to name a few.
To ensure their safety, people need to inquire about the education and professional experience of their massage therapist before they schedule their appointments. State registration, as required by Senate Bill 219, will require massage therapists to practice legally in Colorado to submit to a background check, maintain professional liability insurance, have completed a minimum of 300 hours of education in massage therapy and at least five years of professional experience or have completed at least a minimum of 500 hours of education in massage therapy or have successfully passed one of the national certification exams. They must also pay a registration fee.
I agree completely with Commander Assenmacher, it is a quality of life issue. Please choose your massage therapist carefully.

I seriously do appreciate the education and advice about choosing a legitimate massage therapist.

However I must disagree that “congratulations are in order” for our local law enforcement for suddenly “discovering” something that any moron in our community could have told you was happening for years.

The only rational conclusion is that our local leadership let this go on, looking the other way, to collect the tax revenues; and now, at the last minute when they knew the part would be over anyway they decided to try and grab some extra PR and assets as they knew the party would be over in February anyway thanks to the State of Colorado.

    sorry, meant to say “partY”

It reminds me of when Albuquerque got “tough” on the lotion parlors and hot tub “demonstration” parlors. You know, because you always shop for hot tubs in the grittier parts of town–and it’s important to have a naked woman help you figure out how to work the complex on/off button.

“and it’s important to have a naked woman help you figure out how to work the complex on/off button.”

You know, I’ve been saying that same thing for years…

It is wrong always, everywhere, and for anyone, to believe anything upon insufficient evidence.

Ash, you quote the letter “congratulations are in order” and “discovering”, but these are found no where in the text. Where are you getting this stuff?

  6. Ash

Paraphrasing, Sullivan. I shouldn’t have used the quotation marks. I just tend to overuse them in general. Sorry it threw you.

Thanks for the clarification. Have a happy Thanksgiving!

    You too!
