According to the beliefs of Richard Stover as stated in his Feb. 23, letter to the editor, “Atheists need God to deny his existence,” I also need to believe in unicorns and leprechauns in order to deny belief in them. This is patently absurd.

From the Oxford dictionary, faith is a firm belief, especially without logical proof. Belief is religious conviction.

Just because someone imagines unicorns, leprechauns or gods in their mind doesn’t make them real. Belief in these imaginary beings requires one to suspend reason in favor of faith. No thanks, I’ll stick with reason.

Apparently, atheism severely shakes the faith of the believers, and this is why they must cling to the notions that atheists are simply “angry at God” and that atheists are persecuting believers. Well, you can’t reason with the unreasonable.

    Great post Debbie.

To be truly “angry at god” would require that one first acknowledge that such a being truly exists. Since atheists do not believe in (or require) such a cosmic muffin, kind of rules out the whole notion, does it not?

Bugs Bunny, again. “Sheesh, What a Maroon” Mr. Stover should watch more good cartoons and a little less of the 700 Club.

    Thanks, Debbie
