A big thanks to Rep. John Salazar for voting no against HR 2454.
Regardless of the dubious merits of global warming or its transitional cousin, climate change, which are motivating this quixotic quest to save the planet from nothing, not a single “representative” was able read the bill because it was over 1,200 pages long and the final copy was made available hours before the vote.
Despite not actually knowing what our representatives were voting on, cap and trade is now on its way to the Senate where, again, it will probably not be read.
Who is legislating in Washington? It’s not the guys we send.
Despite this bill being sold as an antidote to what amounts to an unproven environmental problem, Greenpeace won’t back it. That’s how horrifically bad this bill is.
Not only is it a huge, cleverly disguised tax ripoff for all Americans, it’s based on false science that congressional bill supporters and the EPA have sold us. In reality this bill rewards polluters. Read all about it on Greenpeace’s site: http://www.greenpeace.org/usa/press-center/releases2/greenpeace-opposes-waxman-mark.
If you want to hear from the 31,000-plus scientists who reject the global warming fear- mongering rhetoric, check out http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=64734.
We are getting hosed by the insiders and some of our gullible fool representatives, but at least our man Salazar didn’t fall for it. Thanks again John!
