I recently returned from a trip to Germany where water is not served at eating establishments. However, if you insist, they bring you bottled water and charge you the same as a glass of wine or beer.
I find now that this does not only happen in a foreign country but right here in Grand Junction! Try getting water at fast food places like Taco Bell or Burger King. They now charge for a small cup of water and it goes up in price depending on the size. You can pay over $2 for bottled water.I was told it was a “corporate decision” to do this.
I recall a few years ago, when we were in a drought, you could not get water unless you asked for it, but it was still free. Now I know why I never cared for fast food places and won’t frequent many of them in the future. Better yet, take in your own water — if they will allow it.
