OK the government canceled this awesome plane. The main reason was the price. When this program was started the Air Force wanted a plane that could take total control of the skies, be invisible to radar, have the ability to go mach 2 without after burner and stay at that speed for long periods of time.

So why cut the funding?  This keeps jobs going, and people working.

We want the military to do more with less. This jet is 25-30 years ahead of all other countries. We have the right plane now. The F-22.

The government wants to spend millions to upgrade our main fighters we now have (the F-15, F-16 and the F-18). Why do this? The airframes are 20 to 30 years old. We can only upgrade these planes so much, before you can’t upgrade any more.

We as a nation need to keep our advantage over our enemies. This country has been caught off guard too many times. This plane and the F-35 will keep our country on the cutting edge. I, as a taxpayer, don’t like the price tag on these planes but very few will be built.

I say the government needs to rethink this.  Keep the people working, and this country safe.

I think the plane that was canceled was the F-22 not the F-35.
