To all you right wing extremists out there desperately trying to undermine Obama and all he stands for, let’s set the record straight. Obama’s only power is veto, emergency response to foreign attack and a bully pulpit. The Senate, House and Supreme Court make new rules and regulations, not Obama, no matter what you hear from his disconnected detractors.

This letter is about three lines too long.

Richard - Are you addressing only right wing extremists or is the target audience anyone who disagrees with anything the current administration is proposing? There is a difference but unfortunately most left wing extremists cannot differentiate between the two.

Since he specifically mentions “right wing extremists”, I don’t think it is too great a leap to speculate that his letter is addressed to “right wing extremists.” If you recognize that the Office of the President has inherent limits that prevent the holder of that office from instituting a socialist government, repealing the Bill of Rights by himself, and/or controlling everyone’s daily lives, then the letter was not addressed to you.

Unfortunately, many critics of the current administration don’t seem to recognize that.

It is wrong always, everywhere, and for anyone, to believe anything upon insufficient evidence.

“To all you right wing extremists out there desperately trying to undermine Obama and all he stands for”

According to Scott, the writer is only addressing his comments to right wing extremists. He is not addressing it to anyone else who is also desperately trying to undermine Obama and all he stands for.

Phew, I thought I was being included.

That’s how Mr. Stover addressed his letter.

He said nothing about conservatives in moderate clothing who are desperately trying to undermine the president and everything they assume he stands for.

So no, you weren’t being included.

On the other hand Scott, one could also interpret this message as being directed to all opponents of this president if the writer assumed that only rigth wing extremists comprise the opposition.

But that, of course, is probably not the case because it would imply a high level of ignorance, arrogance, and intolerance which this letter writer is unlikely to hold.

I would agree that is not an assumption supported by the available facts.

Excellent. I also thought I might be included in the right wing extremists list as I do have many reservations about the legislation being developed regarding healthcare. I needed to get clarification because I have been lumped into the tea-bagger - birther - wealthy - right wing extremist’s camp previously based soley on my concern over governmental run social welfare programs. For the I don’t fit in any of those categories (ok I suppose I support the tea party movement).
