Change under President Obama has been rapid. Deficit spending is 4 times that of the prior administration. GM now stands for Government Motors. Cap and trade will be a big tax increase on the middle class.
Obamacare is a pill about to be forced down our throats and seniors have figured out it is their health care that is about to be spread.
Just when you think things can’t be worse we begin to see the change in our foreign policy under the leadership of this president. Just a few months ago, he said he wanted to look forward and not backward in reviewing the actions of the CIA. What his attorney general is up to now is not a morale builder there. Good intelligence gathering is no longer the priority.
I also recall the importance the president placed on doing a better job in Afghanistan, the war we should have paid better attention to. What’s going on there? The rules of engagement have changed and now in essence our troops can’t shoot until fired on.
What may be the final straw is how the president handles Iran. Up to now he has been very clear in stating that we could not let Iran become a nuclear power. He now appears less resolute. We seem to be taking a wrong turn at every opportunity. Much of the world is turning right, like in Germany and France. Unlike them, we are taking hard left turns.

Dave,
Cap and trade will not pass.
Neither will Obamacare….
The Israelis will do our dirty work in Iran, all we gotta do is let em fly over Iraq.

I feel that “Obama Care” is a misnomer and mis-characterization. Given that 2009 was the “Summer of the Lobbyist”, and given that the bill is a gimme to Lobbyists clientele… It should be called “Lobbyist Care”. Shame on Congress for not FIRST reforming the Lobby Industry and campaign finance. So long as Congress is allowed to raise funds in Washington DC, and while Congress is in session… no meaningful legislation of any kind will excrete from the Congressional body.
Cap & Trade might very well pass. The RNC has failed to educate the American Public regarding Corporate “Taxes”. Cap & Trade only works if people believe that Corporations pay taxes.

You expect Congress the bite the hand that feeds them? Not likely. The current political slogan might as well be “Spare Change?”
Could you explain what you mean by “Cap & Trade only works if people believe that Corporations pay taxes”?

Actually I do expect Congress to bite the feeding hand. That is what We The People are asking for. To do otherwise, would be unethical. K Street is an obvious ground zero for domestic terror attacks… so conceivably it is a security issue.
Cap & Trade only works if people think someone else is paying the tax. In this case, big evil greedy corporations. Look what happens when the State of Colorado comes up with an “awesome new tax”, and asks us to vote yes on it. The fact of Cap & Trade is that consumers will pay the “awesome new tax”. Congress will get a big pile of money. With an investment history of the Social Security Ponzi scheme, and recent bailouts… Congress will make ‘clean energy’ investments. Lobbyist activity will determine which companies get the investment capitol.. “Clean Energy’ will not be ‘Clean’. The scheme falls apart if people know where the money comes from.
Since the money comes from you and I, the consumer… Leave Congress and the Lobby industry out of it. Since its my money anyway, I prefer to make the investment directly into ‘green’ stocks, mutual funds etc. Then give me a tax incentive for making ‘green’ investments. If Congress cared about the environment, and clean energy they would have done this a LONG time ago starting in the Clinton era.
Unfortunately, the RNC has failed to educate voters, or frame an argument against Cap & Trade. For starters, stop using weak & politically correct characterizations like “pass through”. The most appropriate characterization of “corporate taxes” is MONEY LAUNDERING. To channel funds through an intermediary, so as to disguise the source of funds.

I guess I am not that pessimistic. The one of the main reasons Obama got elected was folks 401Ks took a major hit. While he may not understand that the folks in Congress will figure it out in time. The Cap & Trade will do nothing to help the economy and lose support as the details come to life. If you think your 401K took a hit last year you ain’t seen nothing yet.
(Last I heard Obama is headed to the Vatican to see if he can add canonization to the Nobel.)
