I woke up recently to the news that 55 Americans have died in Afghanistan this month.
Jobs are still not coming back ye, and our economy is still in the tank. But rejoice Americans. Our president has managed to travel abroad to try to get the Olympics to come to Chicago. He has played 24 rounds of golf in 9 months (a feat that took George Bush 2 years and 10 months) and this week, he is in New Jersey campaigning for their governor.
Fifty-five Americans have died this month and he has not made one decision about Afghanistan.
Mr. President if you are not going to win this war, bring our sons our daughters and our parents home. Dick Cheney was right, whether you like it or not, you and your administration are “dithering” while American lives are lost.
Can anyone name one major accomplishment of this administration? Jobs? The economy? The Democrats have enough votes to pass anything they want, without one Republican vote, so the blame game will not work.
These wars and this economy all belong to Obama now. It is his policies (or lack of) that are in place. Obama cannot spend four years blaming the other guy. But maybe a few more rounds of golf will solve it all.

And just how long has this administration been in office? Not very long!

And who created the problems that not only the administration, but us as a people, have to deal with at this time? As I recall, it they were not the fault of this administration but the preceding one(s). So, now that someone is trying to solve them, problems which have been decades in the making, some are impatient? I don’t know about others but, when I fall into a hole, I do not believe it is not the hand(s) of the one(s) attempting to help you out that should be bitten (if biting is necessary), it is that/those of the one(s) who dug the hole. But they, of course, are now denying all responsibility and/and or culpability and doing everything to shift the blame and the “gullible ones”, or those that were complicit in those traveties are quite willing to do the same. After all, isn’t it now the “fashion” to blame eveyone else for any failure, even one’s own?

fastfreddie,
You have got be kidding by that comment? How long does it take to make such a decision? You have the lamest excuse I have ever heard! Both you and RLaitres are good at the ole deflection game by trying to raise meaningless points instead of looking at the issues raised in the letter for what they are. It does not matter at what the past administration did this al BO’s game now. Almost a year is plenty of time to make at least one decision. Oh wait he did, he signed a stimulus bill the majority of Americans are pissed off about now. He will eventually point the finger at someone else when the stimulus doesn’t work. As After all as RLaitres stated - “isn’t it now the “fashion” to blame eveyone else for any failure, even one’s own?”

Right! I make the mess and when someone doesn’t clean it up fast enough, they get blamed for creating it as well. Isn’t that what the poster is saying? Kind of like smearing yourself then whining because mommy doesn’t get around to wiping up the mess fast enough. Is that the posters way of ? Perhaps the poster might wish to ‘pitch in’ and clean up his own mess, or that which he helped create, and that of HIS administration (the previous one). Seems that would be the mature thing to do instead of waiting for someone else to clean it up for them.

RLaitres, as I recall the democrats had the majority in the senate and congress when the housing bubble etc. went under. You are right about others (democrats) not cleaning up the messes they made and whining as well as shifting blame. Perhaps the best dancers for the patomic two step are none other than Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. The only thing I see going on is BO looking at the situation and saying oh well look how messy this is, let’s just make more of a mess out of it. Let’s print more money and burden future generations with that selfish act. BO was proclaimed as the greatest man ever for “change”. I have seen nothing of the sort. If he is so great the decision of putting more troops in would be an easy one. Get the Nobel peace prize for doing absolutley nothing. If BO was worth his salt he would stop pointing his finger on failures of the past administration and take some action. Actions speak louder than words aka the mature thing to do he is not doing. He is all hot air and telepromter! He talks the talk but won’t walk the walk and one by one Americans are opening their eyes to his lies. I will say it again, “the time for honoring yourselves will soon be at an end.”

fastfreddie,
Still waiting for some substance from you to address the issues the letter writer raised instead of your one liners from the peanut gallery…

Is Tiger Woods the only Black Man that should enjoy playing Golf, or play very often??
I would prefer he were playing Golf than burning jet fuel flying around to 20 different places, reading the same speech off the teleprompter at each one. A round of Golf stands a chance of being more productive, and the ‘carbon footprint thingie’ is smaller.
I am more concerned about WHO he is playing Golf with, than how often he plays. For example, the Top Pentagon Brass, Top Brass in Afghanistan & Iraq, top CIA, FBI, NSA, and Homeland Security, FED, Treasury etc. It would be the most productive meeting he had all week. There is likely a Golf course at St Andrews AFB, so security isn’t that much of a problem.

Don’t you think the man deserves a break? He just won the Nobel Peace Prize for love of Pete. Was there a cash prize awarded with that? Maybe he could use that (if there was one) to offset the greens fees for himself and the “working group”? Just a thought.

Warhorse,
Actually Bo may not be able to accept the Nobel Prize without conressional approval per the constitution.
Article I, Section 9, of the Constitution, the emolument clause, states: “And no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince or foreign state.” The five-member Nobel commission, which awarded Obama the prize earlier this month, is elected by the Norwegian Parliament — the Storting. The award is therefore made by a group representing a foreign state.

I am commenting on the title only because it just reached out and slapped me. We all know the the editor for editorial reasons creates the headline for each letter. I’ve noticed that he will take a portion of a sentence or the “emotion” of the letter or the mood of the country….and this one was good. No, I’m not sucking up…please.

Yes, we need more macho shooting from the hip with insufficient thought. We’ve done so well with those kinds of quick decisions in the past. After all, everything is so clean cut and clear and uncomplicated why not just go for it? What could possibly go wrong with a minor misjudgment. Been there, done that.

Hmm…didn’t George W. take the most vacation days of any president?
Wasn’t he the one who worked 8:00 - 5:00 and was in bed early?
Please, someone correct me if I am wrong.

Come on orpheus, he’s only been in office for 9 months. He’ll be able to do outdo Bush, just give him more time for pete sake. What do you expect in such a short period of time?
Wasn’t it also George Bush who was excoriated by the left for taking a minute to collect his thougths when told about the attacks on 9/11? He was such a moron for not jumping to immediate action.
What a bunch of hypocrites.
