What is going to happen with health care? As proposed, will it cost us trillions of dollars? Will it pass?
Our congressman, John Salazar, voted for the current 1996-page document with a public option after he misled the public into thinking he would vote against it. While we can’t speak for his fellow congressman, we do know that Salazar can read. And, of course, we know that he read every page of the bill before he voted for it. He has a college degree, so there must be something in that bill that is worth cutting Medicare by about $300 to $450 billion and having the government take over healthcare adding hundreds of $billions to the federal deficit.
The next major issue is Cap and Trade. While estimates of cost are all over the ballpark, a 10 to 20% increase in your monthly electric bill was forecast by our local power company. The debate on global warming has become a religious issue so I won’t go there but the bill is still pending in the senate.
Will Israel attack Iran and draw the U.S. into a new conflict? In my opinion this may be a high probability. Are we just going to leave the situation in Afghanistan in neutral and stand by as our troops are being killed? Are we going to prosecute our own CIA? Are we going to do anything with the abundance of natural gas in our country while the price of imported oil skyrockets?
What about jobs?
Somebody better step-up to the plate and make some decisions or America is going to end up broke and looking like a bunch of cowards.

And we despise the very people we elect to make these decisions. Why on earth would any sane person go into public service. The power has evaporated, the money is good if you act right for the wrong reasons, the prestige is 0 - sounds like a job position for women that always work for nothing, in jobs with little prestige and are impossible to finish. Looks like the men have gone off to work where the money and power are now - corporations.

And its the corporations and private enterprise that provide the jobs and the standard of living we used to enjoy. Today is the begining of the end for the Libs.

“And we despise the very people we elect to make these decisions.” If you can’t take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. I am guessing you were singing a very different song four years ago.

TLC: “And its the corporations and private enterprise that provide the jobs and the standard of living we used to enjoy.”
What ultimately provides the jobs is demand. The corporation is merely an artificial creation by which demands are met, not the artificially created entity. Depending upont whether those in corporate management are motivated by meeting that demand or merely serving their own needs and that of the entity, is the difference between a “good” corporation and a bad one. All too many by far, fall into the latter category.

Does TLC stand for Tender Loving Care or Toyota Land Cruiser?
