Nobody was a wallflower at the annual Halloween party for clients of Mesa Developmental Services Thursday at Whiskey River but there were a lot of clowns, witches, and ghouls.
The floor was packed as the revelers danced to such Halloween hits as “Monster Mash” and “Ghostbusters.”
Every foot was a’tappin and every face had a smile.
For some it was the first time in a bar setting. “I think they’re probably having more fun than most,” commented the bartenders.
“It gives them a chance to participate in the community and just have a good time,” said Melissa Atchley, supported living services coordinator for Mesa Developmental services.
Atchley said that Whiskey River was a generous venue, renting the bar, DJ, and bartenders for only $50.
Only soda was served. There were cupcakes and other sweet treats.
The clients were too busy dancing to comment.
