Who is Joshua Danger?

Nobody knows for sure, but if his increasingly popular Internet music video is any indication, he’s a sweet-talking, fake-mustachioed cyber-lothario. A devil-in-disguise who lures innocent girls like Tammie Lotionson into “kind-of-illegal” dates on his Cushman Tote Goat.

The new Joshua Danger video, “I Will Make You (Sex With Me)”, has it all — catchy music, a comedic plot, seamless editing and high-quality film, plus it was produced, filmed and cast by locals in Grand Junction.

So far the video has more than 5,000 views on YouTube, and counting.

It is the brainchild of Joshua Danger and local filmmaker Seth Schaeffer, who are hoping the video will catch Internet fire and go truly viral.

Danger will not reveal his real name, but he will say that he is a born-and-raised Grand Junctionite who lives in Las Vegas, and that the original song lyrics came to him while driving to Miami recently. He thought of the lyrics “I will make you sex with me,” and it made him laugh.

“Who would even say something like that?” he wondered. Thus the birth of Joshua Danger.

Danger and Schaeffer hope the video will become an Internet sensation.

Schaeffer, also a valley native, handled the filming and production of the video. He is the owner of Hoptocopter Films, a Grand Junction-based film company that specializes in high-end commercial production. Hoptocopter Films has made commercials for local businesses such as Creative Avenues, and Fahrenholtz and Tucker Law Offices.

Schaeffer said he used the project as a way to challenge and test his limits. He wanted to see how long it would take to produce a high-quality music video, plus he wanted to use the platform to reach a national audience.

“There’s a need for high-quality video production here in Grand Junction, and we’re taking the first steps with a goal of doing national accounts,” Schaeffer said.

The video took a total of 45 days to complete from start to finish. It was filmed over three days in October, and includes scenes shot at Monument Coffee on the Redlands, the Ross parking lot, and the desert north of 25 Road.

Local talent includes Schaeffer’s wife, Carrington, as Tammie Lotionson, Teri Schafer of Showtime Productions, and models Lindsay Hoover, MacKenzie Koncher, Alicia Ready, Brandi Wittwer and Dominic Jones.

Other actors include Preston Helton, Danny Odam, Mike West and Shannon Huslig.

Schaeffer said he already has seen an increase in business since the video was released Oct. 29.

Danger and Schaeffer also are planning a sequel to “I Will Make You (Sex With Me).”

“I have always been a fan of silly songs, but they usually suffer in production quality. That’s our goal, to make a funny, light-hearted song but with professional quality video,” he said.
